REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

<li>An active email address.</li>
<li>One of the following Canadian government-issued photo IDs linked to your current address:

<li>Optional recommendation: possessing a passport to enhance your Identity Assurance Level (IAL) and improve the likelihood of successful identity verification. A higher IAL indicates increased confidence in the authenticity of your digital identity, enabling greater trustworthiness across services.</li>

HOW THE SYSTEM OPERATES

<li>During registration, users verify their identity via their iPhone by taking a selfie with a liveness check and scanning their government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport).</li>
<li>Upon successful verification, each user receives a unique eID-Me digital identity, which includes a digital certificate containing verified claims about their identity.</li>
<li>This digital identity enables users to access various services effortlessly and to share verified information securely during both online and in-person identity transactions.</li>

PRIVACY AND SECURITY MEASURES

<li>Your identity data remains exclusively stored on your iPhone. It is not hosted on centralized servers or third-party cloud environments.</li>
<li>Once your identity is verified, a secure certificate is installed locally on your device. Your information remains inaccessible to others unless you choose to share it during a transaction.</li>
